Gloria Steinem once said that “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.”
And boy, we’re pissed off.
Here are just a few of the things Sin in Linen stands for:
We stand for equal rights.
We stand for reproductive rights.
We stand for women’s rights.
We stand for the positive growth of young women.
We stand for positive collaborations with people from other countries.
Basically we stand for everything the newest commander in chief stands against.
Which is why we’re pissed off.
If you find yourself witnessing the current shifts occurring in our political structure and feel helpless, you are not alone. But stand firm. Stand tall. And, if possible, stand with a family of fearless fighters this weekend. You can join like-minded individuals this Saturday morning in one of the many Women’s Marches happening across the United States and beyond.
The official Women’s March on Washington begins at 10:00am EST and concludes at 1:15pm EST. They will be marching through downtown DC, near the U.S. Capitol building. Their mission? “We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families – recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.” They witnessed the hate-filled rhetoric of the recent election cycle — rhetoric that threatened and insulted such members of our society as immigrants, LGBTQIA, Native people, people of diverse faiths, etc etc……and they decided to do something about it. They will march.
And you can, too. We are.
Many of us are unable to make the trip to DC for the official march on the capital, but this does not mean you can’t participate. There are over six hundred other marches occurring — “Sister Marches” and to find the one nearest you check out the official page which allows you to enter your ZIP code. As of Tuesday, January 17th, they are expecting over a million marchers to attend sister marches. No ticket is required.

Albert Einstein once pointed out that “Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds.” We are a family of great minds. We will not be afraid of any opposition, particularly when it comes from mediocre minds.
As Susan B. Anthony once said, “There is so much yet to be done.”
We’re here with you.
And we’re ready to help get shit done.
